This was my third natural childbirth experience and by far the best. Having Estee there made this so much smoother. I knew she would support, guide, and help me achieve the birth I wanted. My labor was fast and very intense by the end. She hugged me, helped me relax, and ultimately became the perfect birthing partner. She directed staff, encouraged my husband to join in, and held me as I birthed my cute baby girl into the world. Although I wasn't as calm and composed as I had hoped to be at the end, she reminded me how to push properly and physically supported me without complaint. Thankyou Estee!

I am so glad that we hired Estee to be our doula. She was a real life saver for us. Never having experienced natural childbirth before, I was quite unsure of how I was going to feel and what I would want. Estee had fabulous intuition and confidence and that helped calm me and steady me. She brought a sense of peace to a very intense situation. She was so in tune with me and my body, she was able to observe things that I wasn't paying any attention to. I thought I was relaxed, until I felt her unrolling my clenched fists and massaging my tensed jaw. She was a great listener was not pushy at all. My husband appreciated her help and her calming influence. It was great to have an extra pair of hands around. There are so many little things to be done when a baby is making its way into the world, and I am so glad that I never had to be alone when someone had to go get cool cloths, drinks, snacks, drop off the kids, pack the car, etc. When transition came, she held me in such a perfect position, kind of like a hug, and guided me though breathing and moaning exercises. I never would have thought to do that stuff on my own, but it helped immensely. When you're focusing birthing your baby, there are a lot of things you just don't think about and that your excited husband might not catch either, so was nice to have another more highly functioning brain in the room. Natural childbirth really is an experience like no other. Even though we had read many books and talked to friends, we had no idea what it actually was like until after we had been through it. That being said, I feel that it is so invaluable to have an experienced woman with you to help guide you and boost your confidence. Estee is an awesome doula, so seriously consider letting her be there to comfort you in your hour of greatest need!

I knew even before I got pregnant that I wanted to have Estee as my doula. I heard so many great things about her. Through my own birthing experience I found that what I heard from others was true! Estee was my rock. She literally held me up through most of my contractions. She reminded me to do all of the techniques that I had read about. If it wasn't for her I would have been lost. Estee is a very whole person - she gives all of herself to whatever she decides to do. You can't ask for more from a doula. She brings her love and joy and gives it to you in abundance as you take on the incredible task of bringing life into the world. I had my second child, a baby girl, in my home last year. Estee was my doula, and man, I sure wish I had had her with my first! :) She came in with her calming spirit, and set to work - massaging my lower back during contractions, offering encouragement, making jokes and lifting my spirits. She empowered me. She saw the miracle of what I was doing, and helped me to see it too. I remember her telling me, you're a goddess, you're glorious. At that moment I felt anything but glorious, but when I held my precious baby in my arms, it all came full circle. She was in that circle with me, my husband and my baby for a time. She held that cloth to my forehead, she gave me those sips of water and bites of toast. More than anything else though, she gave her spirit.
We had known each other in college, although not well. When we ran into each other again in San Antonio, I was weeks away from delivering, but only just barely realizing that I needed a doula. I had interviewed one other lady, and had liked her a lot, but when Estee told me she was a doula, I was immediately drawn to the idea. Her energy and joy were just infectious. I knew that I needed someone there to support me in a certain way. My midwife wasn't it - I knew she would be fantastic in her role, but she wasn't calming to my soul. My husband would be an incredible support, but I knew I needed one more person there. Estee completed my birth circle - she provided exactly what I needed when I needed it - she has an incredible sense of how to minister to the individual. I could not imagine a better experience than the one that I had, and Estee was a huge part of that. I might just fly her up to Portland for my next one. :)

When I first started looking into natural childbirth, the first person I went to was Estee. I had heard her talk about it with other women and as she always spoke so simply and plainly that natural childbirth is the way to go because it is so natural. This is what women were meant to do. We have the power and the strength to do so. She helped me find what books to read to prepare myself. She also taught me a lot about what I actually have control over when I am at the hospital. Even though the nurses have a certain routine they follow, if I didn't want to follow that I didn't have to. I could choose what kind of birth experience I wanted to have. When my due date came and passed by, she helped relax me with massaging and even talked me into taking castor oil. The amazing part was Estee was also pregnant and due 3 weeks after me. My labor didn't start until two weeks after my dur date so Estee was quickly approaching her own. My labor lasted a really long time at the hospital and even though other people were in the room it just seemed like everything she said was exactly what I needed to hear and wanted to hear. She was always so calming during the entire experience and very optimistic even though I was dilated to a 7 for close to 6 hours!!! She worked so hard for me even though she was 9 months pregnant. Finally in the end I still remember how much I treasured her words during the pushing stage when I felt like I had nothing left. I felt very positive about my experience and learned a lot. It has prepared me for any future births I may have and has given me confidence to talk about it with others and encourage them to take control of their birth experience.

She is an AMAZING birthing coach. I loved having her there to coach me and my husband through our perfect first labor and delivery. She is so easy to talk to and really works hard to make your labor and delivery everything you could ever want! I love you Estee!
